Kansas University Medical Center Central Plains Geriatric Education Center
The Kansas University Medical Center Central Plains Geriatric Education Center wanted me to revamp their website with new .NET coding, a new database design, and an ecommerce payment module with detailed administration pages and a shopping cart.
I used dynamic fillable forms, custom user controls: menus, treeviews,
gridviews, detailsview, tabs, panels, Ajax, spell check, editors, popups, and more
features to simplify and streamline the processes.
I redesigned the database structure, adding relations among the tables and maintaining a consistent style throughout. I imported all of the old data to the new tables and created a custom Object Relational Mapper (ORM) using ADO.NET. I used Codesmith to create and generate the custom ORM code for each table and stored procedures thus saving thousands of hours of development time.
I added numerous administration page sets. Each page set consisted of a search filter, search results, tab panels and selector grids as needed, and editors to search, input, and maintain data such as the User Profiles, CE Administration, Payment Module, Certificate Programs, Location Administration, Grant Support Administration, CoSponsor Administration, and more.
I created an ecommerce payment module with detailed administration abilities to search for a payment by the user or by the purchased item. The user could select a course and add it to their shopping cart, along with specifying criteria such as location. The module also allowed for customized discounts per course.
I worked with their primary developer as a mentor, so that she could take over the project upon completion of my duties.
